Our goal is to provide the health community an alternative delivery solution that will allow patients to self administer, and effectively deliver, a broad range of therapies transdermally, thereby avoiding the pain of a conventional injection and the side affects associated with oral delivery. At Apogee we are well on the way to deliver on our goal, with the development of our PyraDerm™ solution based upon our proprietary Microelectrical Mechanical Systems (“MEMS”) and Nanotechnology.

Our PyraDerm™ solution consists of an array of silicon micro-pyramids covered in a proprietary coating containing therapeutic compounds in an easy to use patch applicator.

We believe that the advantage of our PyraDerm™ solution lies in its ability to encapsulate a range of therapeutic compounds that are highly insoluble or have a very low bioavailability and precisely release them either instantaneously or over an extended period of time. Our delivery system targets emerging and future therapies by delivering large molecule based drugs such as proteins, peptides and antibody based medicines. PyraDerm™ has no power requirements, is painless and suitable for self-administration, and it cannot be misused as the drugs are completely released into the body.

We have performed laboratory testing demonstrating the feasibility of our solution and we are now moving into pre-clinical and clinical trials with a selected set of drug therapies. Depending upon the specific applications, we may commercialize our own products or we may choose to partner or license our technology.
